Details
Oleanolic acid is a pentacyclic triterpene existing widely in the plant kingdom and was reported to have anti-cancer and other interesting bioactivity. This well-known triterpene compound was marketed in China as an oral drug for human liver disorders. Many semi-synthetic derivatives of oleanolic acid were reported to have improved anti-tumor activity.
Chemical Name: 3β-hydroxy-olea-12-en-28-oic acid
Molecular Structure:
Specification: 98% HPLC
Characteristic: white powder
Source: leaves of Olea europaea L. and Viscum coloratum, fruit of Ligustrum Lucidum Ait
Application: 1. Oleanolic acid pretreatment dramatically diminished CCl4-, bromobenzene-, acetaminophen-, phalloidin-, and cadmium-induced liver injury, and decreased the hepatotoxicity of D-galactosamine plus endotoxin, thioacetamide, furosemide, and colchicine.
2. Oleanolic acid ameliorates visceral adiposity and improves glucose tolerance in mice and thus has an antiobese potential through modulation of carbohydrate and fat metabolism.
3. Oleanolic acid have also been long-recognized to have antiinflammatory and antihyperlipidemic properties in laboratory animals.
